Bishwanath Union was developed on two banks of the Basia river. The settlement of the settlements has been established since ancient times. At that time ancient Buddhist settlements were present in this region. In the aftermath of the arrival of Hazrat Shah Jalal (R :) in Sylhet, and in contemporary times, Muslim populace was developed.
